Grade 6 animation project

Students have to create an animation/movie that tells a story:
  • Students were divided in groups (5 – 6 per group);
  • Each group had to create a visual storyboard for their animation/movie – in MS Word using Paint for the pictures;
  • Groups had to make the characters (with clay, pipe cleaners, paper, etc.) and the backgrounds they would use;
  • They had to take a sequence of photographs, using the characters and background, that would tell the story visually;

Environmental Club and Social Media (by K Dallimore)

Human Impact on the Environment is one of the core themes studied in Grade 11 Life Sciences in the new CAPS syllabus, so it was exciting to be invited by the Teaching Biology Project and the City of Cape Town to take part in a pilot study. Ten schools were elected to become involved in this project.
